Welcome to my kitchen.
I have always loved eating good food, but it wasn’t until I had children that I fell in love with making it too. Now it seems as though about half my life is spent trawling cookbooks and the web for recipes, meal planning, shopping for and preparing food, so this is the place where I will report back. If I didn’t invent it, I’ll tell you where I found it and how I tweaked it and, most importantly, I’ll let you know what the kids thought of it.
Some of the recipes will be my own, some will be pilfered from books or websites, but they will all be wholesome family dishes that I have served up to my 3-year-old (aka Little Lady Swabey) and 10-month-old (Baby Swabey), with varying degrees of success. And Papa Swabey, of course, who has promised to be as honest as the kids, if slightly more tactful.
Anyway, I hope you find my culinary exploits useful and/or entertaining. Feel free to let me know how you get on with the recipes if you try them, any tweaks you’ve tried or anything else you think I ought to cook up. I’m always open to new ideas.
